Bollingerin runsaalla, pinot noir -painotteisella tyylillä on vannoutuneet ystävänsä, joihin lukeutuvat niin James Bond kuin Englannin kuningashuone, joka on pitänyt Bollingerin hovihankkijanaan vuodesta 1888. Kun useimmat samppanjatalot siirtyivät 1960-luvulta eteenpäin teräksisiin käymistankkeihin, Madame Bollinger teki päätöksen pitäytyä tammessa luoden talolle uniikin, tunnistettavan tyylin.

Tässä Master Classissa talon kellarimestari Denis Bunner esittelee meille tämän maineikkaan talon lähes koko tuoterepertuaarin. Vakiosamppanjoiden jälkeen maistamme yhden talon uusimmista lanseerauksista, kiintoisan pinot noir -samppanja PN:n. Tasting huipentuu uunituoreiden vuosikerran 2015 La Grande Année luksussamppanjoiden parivaljakkoon. Ikoninen, pitkään kypsytetty RD on harvinaista herkkua ja saamme maistaa sen mainetta niittäneen huippuvuosikerran 2008.

Muun muassa enologiaa ja kansainvälistä ruokataloutta opiskellut Denis Bunner toimi liki kymmenen vuotta Comité Champagnen enologian projektipäällikkönä. Sveitsissä Nestlé Nespressolla hän työskenteli vuoden verran aistinvaraisen arvioinnin projektipäällikkönä ennen liittymistään Bollingerin tiimiin vuonna 2013. Denis Bunner nimitettiin Champagne Bollingerin kellarimestariksi vuonna 2023.

Bollinger’s rich, Pinot Noir dominant house has its dedicated fans including James Bond and the British Royal Family, who have had Bollinger as an official supplier ever since 1888. When most champagne houses shifted from oak to stainless steel vats, Madame Bollinger made the decision to stick with oak, which has created the house an unique, recognizable style.

In his Master Class cellar master Denis Bunner presents us almost the entire portfolio of this prestigious house. After the non-vintage cuvées we will get to taste one of the house’s latest creations, the intriguing pinot noir champagne PN. The master class culminates to the taste the newly released 2015 vintage La Grande Année prestige cuvée duo. The iconic, long-aged RD is a rare encounter of which we get to savour the top vintage 2008.

Denis Bunner has studied oenology and international food industry amongst other subjects. He worked for almost ten years as the oenology project manager for Comité Champagne. Then, he went to work for one year in Switzerland for Nestlé Nespresso as a sensory product manager before joining the Bollinger team in 2013. He was appointed Bollinger’s cellar master in 2023.
